I started walking/running in the evenings because going to the gym in time of pandemic sounds like a bad idea, and all my friends/family have advised me against it.

But then I had a friend tell me running on the pavement will "ruin my knees" or some shit. Is this true?

I live in an urban area. Sure, there's trails, but they're far, and by the time I actually get there I would have lost my motivation and time.

That's pretty why I stopped running, at least as exercise. The thing is - no one knows why running kills your knees since there is no reliable info on it, but if you do want to try some running do it as slow as possible, you might even want to walk or fast walk 5-10 km first month before starting slow running, this way you at least killing it slowly.

Where I live, noone gave a shit about pandemic. Noone wore masks, every shop works as usual. Even worse, people who ignore pandemic are treated as some kind of heroes, like good job, show that government that we are not sheeps! Disregard dozens of new infected every day.

Running anywhere destroys your knees, but if you want full body exercise you could climb ropes and walls like monekeys were meant to.

Also funny thing, The Man build your houses so badly that you need to purchase additional shoes just to walk inside them, lol.

This sounds like some insane home shoes promo, how the fuck this even a thing? Wearing shoes all the time is tiring and definitely not good for your health. And this bacteria argument - just how dirty is your typical american household that it has tons of dangerous bacteria? Clean up properly, it's not hard at all.
